Northern Fleet multirole nuclear submarine Obninsk has successfully accomplished long-range cruise tasks and returned to base Zaozersk (Murmansk Region), says press center of RF Defence Ministry.
The seamen were met by Commander of the NF Underwater Troops Hero of Russia Vice Admiral Alexander Moiseev, servicemen of the submarine formation, representatives of municipal authorities and clergy as well as relatives of the crew members.
The crew was handed over a traditional roast suckling-pig. Wives of the seamen prepared a big submarine-shaped cake.
The Obninsk nuclear submarine is designed for engagement of surface ships and submarines as well as coastal facilities.
