In 2015 total cargo traffic at the Port of Rostov-on-Don declined by 4.2% year-on-year to 17.11 million tonnes, the IAA PortNews correspondent reports citing Acting Harbourmaster Alexander Bogdanov.
Handling of crude and oil products fell by 4.9% to 5,180,000 tonnes, of non-grain bulk cargo - by 18.7% to 3,144,000 tonnes, of scrap metal - by 6.1% to 859,000 tonnes, general cargo - by 31.4% to 597,000 tonnes, liquid bulk (edible) - by 3.3% to 380,000 tonnes.
At the same time, the volume of grain bulk cargo grew by 5% to 5,033,000 tonnes, of metals - by 9.5% to 457,000 tonnes, of coal and coke - by 36.2% to 1,354,000 tonnes.
In loaded cargo volumes there was a 19.1% gain to 11,254,000 tonnes. Unloaded cargo volume dropped by 10.4% to 1,324,000 tonnes. Transit cargo – fell by 34.5% to 4,533,000 tonnes.
Marine border crossing post of Rostov-on-Don for the 12 months processed 6,332 arrivals and 6,314 departures (2014 – 6,342 / 6,330).
Bunkering volume for the period also declined 2.6% to 76,900 tonnes, the Captain's report said.
