In January-December 2015, Taganrog Commercial Seaport OJSC handled 1.5 mln t of cargo (+25%, year-on-year), the stevedoring company says in its press release.
The company attributes the increase to an increasing demand for the port’s major cargoes: export metal, coal, grin and oil products.
Transshipment of general cargo increased by 29% to 438,000 t, metal and tubular goods – up 36% to 397,000 t, big-bags – down by 17% to 41,000 t, liquid bulk cargo – up 30% to 135,000 t, dry bulk and loose cargo – up 30% to 546,000 t including 619,500 t of coal (+34%) and 198,000 t of grain (+26%). Transshipment of ore fell by 9% to 28,000 t.
The company’s container throughput totaled 4,400 TEUs (-43%, year-on-year).
In the reported period, Taganrog Commercial Seaport handled 1,3 mln t of export cargo, 46,000 t of import cargo, 144,000 t of coastal trade cargo (87%, 3% and 10% accordingly).
In the reported period, the company handled 19,367 railcars and 364 vessels.
Taganrog Commercial Seaport OJSC is a key stevedoring company of the Taganrog port. The major shareholder of Taganrog Commercial Seaport OJSC is UCL Port, stevedoring division of the International transportation group UCL Holding which controls a number of stevedoring assets in the South and North West of Russia. In 2014, Taganrog Commercial Seaport handled 1.2 mln t of cargo.
