VOS vessels support FPSO Glen Lyon

Vroon’s VOS Chablis and VOS Prime are currently providing support to BP’s brand-new FPSO, Glen Lyon, built as part of the multi-billion pound Quad204 development west of Shetland.

VOS Chablis and VOS Prime were mobilised to South Korea at the end of 2015, where they worked from the port of Ulsan alongside Glen Lyon as it completed sea trials. Following these trials, both VOS vessels have been supporting the FPSO on its voyage to Singapore. VOS Prime and VOS Chablis will also accompany Glen Lyon from Singapore to its final port call prior to arrival west of Shetland.

This is the first fixture for VOS Prime since her delivery to Vroon in November 2015. VOS Prime, a platform-supply vessel (PSV), is the second in a series of eight sister vessels ordered by Vroon Offshore Services and is operated by VOS Genoa. She is in compliance with SPS code and equipped with full (under-deck) supply capabilities, that include stainless-steel tanks for the carriage of methanol. The vessel provides accommodation and work space for a total of 52.

VOS Chablis is a 65m Focal-680-design 6,500 BHP AHTS vessel. She is equipped with DP-2, has a bollard pull of 92T, is SPS-code compliant and provides accommodation for a total of 50 persons. She was delivered to Vroon in 2015 and is operated by VOS Singapore.

We are proud to be supporting this important project that is widely seen as an example of the strategic activity necessary to maximise economic recovery of oil and gas from the UK North Sea, and secure a long-term future for the country’s offshore industry. The fixture involves VOS management companies worldwide working together to deliver a complete solution for BP, proving Vroon’s ability to provide a tailor-made global service.
