In January 2016, the network of Russian Railways loaded 93.8 mln t of cargo, 2.9% less than in January 2015, the Company’s press center says.
In the reported period the railways shipped the following goods:
coal - 28.6 mln t (+2.6%, year-on-year); coke – 0.812 mln t (-12%); crude and oil products – 20.9 mln t (-7.8%); iron and manganese ores – 9 mln t (-3%); ferrous metal – 5.5 mln t (-13.3%); ferrous metal scrap– 0.456 mln t (-32.3%); chemical and mineral fertilisers – 4.6 mln t (+5.7%); cement – 1.1 mln t (-23%); timber – 2.9 mln t (-4.5%); grain – 1.3 mln t (-16.2%); construction material – 7.1 mln t (+9.3%); non-ferrous ore and sulphur feedstock – 1.7 mln t (+3.1%); chemicals and soda – 2.1 mln t (-3.7%); industrial feedstock and moulded materials – 2,1 mln t (-3,8%).
In January 2016, freight turnover of Russian Railways fell by 3% to 182.8 billion tariff ton-km. Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon runs was 236.3 billion ton-km (-2.4%).
