Azov-Don Shipping Company retained cargo transportation volumes at the previous year level – 3.5 mln t

In 2015, vessels of Azov-Don Shipping Company (ADP) carried 3.5 mln t of different cargoes, which is similar to the result of the previous year, the company’s press center says. Grain accounted for 43%, construction materials – for 26%, coal - 14%, sulphur - 13%.

Amid the general reduction of cargo turnover at the inland water ways of the Azov-Don Basin by 39% (to 8.7 mt) due to abnormally low level of water at Lower Don, shipping companies of ADP managed to retain its cargo flows. The volume of Donrechflot OJSC increased by 33% to 1,150,000 t.

The routes of Azov-Don Shipping Company pass the following river ports of Russia: Rostov-on-Don, Ust-Donetsk, Azov, Taganrog, Yeisk, Kavkaz, Astrakhan, Buzan as well as seaports of Turkey, Greece, Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, Izrael.

In 2015, stevedoring companies of Azov-Don Shipping Company handled 3,139,000 t of cargo (-22%, year-on-year) with construction materials accounting for 30%, sulphur – for 13%, metal scrap – 7%. The Group’s largest stevedore, Multipurpose Port of Rostov LLC, increased its throughput by 3% to 1,410,000 t.

Group of companies “Azov-Don Shipping Company” (GC ADP) is a transport holding company. It was founded in 2003. It incorporates over 20 water transport companies, including shipping, stevedoring, logistics and development companies. The Group’s activities are of strategic importance for Russia which is confirmed with construction of a multi-purpose port in Rostov under the Federal Targeted Programme “Development of RF Transport System in 2010-2020”.
