Throughput of port Nevelsk to reach 1.6 mln t in 2016

In 2016, seaport of Nevelsk (Sakhalin) is expected to handle 1.6 mln t of cargo (up from 1,031,500 t of cargo handled in 2015), the port’s Harbour Master Office told IAA PortNews.порта.

Deputy Harbour Master of port Nevelsk Riyas Gimadiyev says exports are planned at 800,000 t (against 374,000 t in 2015), imports – 30,000 t (against 24,000 t), costal cargo traffic – 750,000 t. 

The port is going to handle 5,200 ships this year.

Port Nevelsk is an ice-free port with round-the-year navigation in the south of Sakhalin’s western coast.
