Vladimir Putin approves handing over of State Border Agency’s functions to RF Ministry of Transport

Vladimir Putin has approved the proposal of RF Government to hand over of State Border Agency’s functions to RF Ministry of Transport, Kremlin press center says.

According to RF Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, “Federal Agency for the Development of the State Border Facilities (Rosgranitsa) …has performed part of its functions, and actually, the Transport Ministry could perform the same functions without any loss in quality, and it can take over the functions of Rosgranitsa”.

Federal Agency for the Development of the State Border Facilities was set up by the Order of RF President on October 11, 2007.

Vladimir Putin also approved the idea of merging the Federal Service for Fiscal and Budgetary Supervision and the Federal Treasury as part of the Finance Ministry with transferring the fiscal control and supervision functions to the Federal Treasury and distributing foreign currency receivables and currency control between the Federal Taxation Service and the Federal Customs Service.
