Reconstruction of the dock at the workshop No10 of Ship Repair Centre Zvezdochka (Zvezdochka Shipyard, part of United Shipbuilding Corp.), undertaken for technical upgrading of the shipyard’s production facilities to make them capable of repairing submarines of the third generation, is nearing completion. According to the company’s press center, the newly upgraded dock will accept its first ship in June 2016.
Severodvinsk, Russia based Shipbuilding Centre ‘Zvezdochka’ is a diversified shipbuilding enterprise. The shipyard has two covered slipways, 7 shipbuilding yards, specializing in repair and construction of vessels with a launching weight of up to 18,000 tonnes. The firm is majority owned by Northern Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Centre, part of JSC United Shipbuilding Corporation.
