In January 2016, the port of Kaliningrad handled 1,027,700 t of cargo (-12%, year-on-year), says Baltic Sea Ports Administration.
Transshipment of dry bulk cargo surged by 82% to 89,700 t including 45,700 t of coal (+53%, year-on-year).
Transshipment of dry loose cargo fell by 37% to 285,700 t, general cargo – up 46% to 159,600 t.
The port’s container throughput increased by 32.4% to 15,850 TEUs.
Transshipment of cargoes carried by ferries totaled 160,500 (+2%), liquid bulk cargo - 260,800 t (-22%) including 136,900 t of oil products (-30%), 80,200 t of crude oil (+22%) and 39,500 t of food cargo (-44%).
