In January 2016 the port of Vladivostok (Primorsky Territory) handled 1,322,030 t of cargo (+5.9%, year-on-year), Harbour Master’s office of port Vladivostok told IAA PortNews.
In the reported period the port registered 389 incoming and 393 outgoing vessels (against 453 and 474 vessels accordingly in January 2015).
The increase of throughput was driven by coal transshipment which double from 81,320 t to 191,575 t and fish – from 53,889 to 111,611 t.
Transshipment of sawn timber grew by 35% to 15,505 t, ferrochrome and ferrosilicium – up by almost 30% to 27,080 t. This January also saw transshipment of network types of cargo – sulphur (4,940 t) and grain (5,000 t).
At the same time, transshipment of containers decreased from 461,236 t to 343,822 t), automobiles – from 4,883 t to 3,516 t, general cargo – from 83,375 t to 64,467 t, metal – from 184,315 t to 124,297 t. Transshipment of oil changed slightly – from 334,860 t to 333 882 t.
According to the Harbour Master’s office, the volume of off-harbour bunkering operations dropped almost 7 times – from 40,542 t to 5,721 t amid absence of large capacity vessels.
