RF President approves increased excise tax on diesel fuel from April 1, 2016

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed the Federal Law “On Introduction of Amendments into Article 193 of the Tax Code of the Russian Federation” which was passed by the State Duma and approved by the Federation Council on February 26, 2016.

According to the amendments introduced in Article 193 of Part 2 of the of the Tax Code of the Russian Federation,  the excise tax on diesel fuel will be RUB 5,293 per tonne from April 1, 2016 and RUB 5,093 per tonne from January 1, 2017 (as of today – RUB 4,150 per tonne).
