Mersey Maritime names Cammell Laird Business of the Year

Cammell Laird has been named Business of the Year at the Mersey Maritime Industry Awards 2016.
In a gala evening gathering hundreds of guests from across the maritime sector, including the shipping minister Robert Goodwill MP, at Wallasey Town Hall Cammell Laird was awarded one of the top prizes of the night.
The award, sponsored by the Peel Group, was collected by Mike Hill Production Director and Rob Griffiths, a 23-year-old Trainee Ship Manager and former apprentice, who was shortlisted for the evening’s Rising Star Award.
Judges praised Cammell Laird for the company’s ability to demonstrate understanding of its target market and position and adapt itself accordingly. Judges further found that Cammell Laird had an outstanding application as it had shown impressive growth and sustainability in terms of job creation, turnover and impact on Merseyside.
