Vyborg Shipyard will participate in the International Forum on shipbuilding and maritime safety
Vyborg Shipyard says it will participate in the International Forum on shipbuilding and maritime safety "The Fishing Fleet – a New Impetus for Development”. The Forum will be held in Murmansk on 17-18 March 2016.
VSY management at its stand will make an overview of the yard production facilities and possible construction techniques of fishing vessels. Also in the framework of the forum VSY General Director will report on topical issues of state-of-the-art fishing fleet construction at domestic shipyards using the example of Vyborg Shipyard. One of the focus areas of Vyborg Shipyard activities is construction of fishing fleet. In 2016 the company has signed cooperation agreements in fishing trawlers construction sector with fisheries and fish-processing companies JSC Arkhangelsk Trawl Fleet and LLC “Nord-Pilgrim". In total, under the terms of the agreements, VSY is intended to build 5 fishing vessels. At the forum VSY management is planning to sign contracts for construction of fishing vessels.
Vyborg Shipyard (part of state-owned United Shipbuilding Corporation from 2012) is one of the largest shipbuilding companies of the North-Western Region of Russia with over 60-years’ experience in shipbuilding. Since its inception in 1948 the shipbuilding company has built more than 200 different vessels with a total displacement of 1,550,000 tonnes.
