Vyborg Shipyard signs contracts with Arkhangelsk Trawl Fleet to build four trawlers
Vyborg Shipyard, group member of United Shipbuilding Corporation, says it has signed a series of contracts for construction of fishing trawlers with Arkhangelsk Trawl Fleet. The contracts were signed on March 17, 2016 at the site of the International Forum "The Fishing Fleet - New Impulse to Development" in Murmansk.
The contract documents were co-signed by General Director of Vyborg Shipyard Alexander Solovyev and CEO of Arkhangelsk Trawl FleetSergey Nesvetov in the presence of Deputy Minister of Agriculture – Head of Russian Federal Fisheries Agency Ilya Shestakov and Governor of Murmansk Region Marina Kovtun.
In January 2016 VSY and ATF signed an Agreement for Cooperation on construction of fishing trawlers of a new generation. According to the contracts concluded at the Forum Vyborg Shipyard will build "turnkey" for ATF four medium-size trawlers project ST 116 XL. The vessels will be reinforced to Ice3 class. The planned catch capacity of each trawler is up to 100 t of fish per day and also the vessels are supposed to be fitted out with combined holds for seafood 375 m3. Compulsory condition for the contracts to take effect is approval of a mechanism of State support in the form of allocation of investment quotas for construction of the fishing vessels.
