SPB Marine LLC says it has recently signed an agreement on the delivery of two engines Scania DI 1642 M 10-53 for the Sea Rescue Service of Rosmorrechflot. Engines will be installed at the diving boat A160. This type of boat is intended to be used for the diving organization of technical underwater operations, for the participation in rescue and boat lifting operations and also for the monitoring of ground in the water areas and sunken objects.
According to the project of “SPB Marine” the same 10 boats have already been built (with Scania engines DI16M, Twin Disc MGX 5135SC gears and control system EC 300) and are still being used. The construction of another diving boat was launched because of the enlargement in the Russian Sea Rescue fleet.
SPB Marine LLC was established in September 2007 by a group of engineers – graduates from the marine engineering department of Admiral S. O. Makarov State Marine Academy. In November 2007 the company signed a partnership agreement with Scania and in February 2008 a contract for delivery of a first Scania marine engine.
For five years of its cooperation with Scania SPB Marine LLC delivered and commissioned almost 50 Scania marine engines and in April 2013 signed a contract for delivery of 32 engines to the Navy that was a record in the whole history of Scania in Russia.
In addition to its cooperation with Scania SPB Marine LLC concluded partnership agreements with Bukh (2008) and Twin Disc (2010) Companies.
