Seventh Capesize class vessel loaded at Vostochny Port this year (photo)
Seventh Capesize class vessel has been loaded at Vostochny Port this year. Bulk carrier Cape Mathilde moored at berth No 49 on March 25, 2016.
The vessel of 45 m in width and 292 m in length was loaded with 152,000 t of export coal (deadweight of Cape Mathilde is about 180,000 t).
The loading speed of the specialized conveyor equipment was 3,000 t/h per one technological line.
Vostochny Port is the only terminal operator in the Primorsk Territory able to accept Сapesize class ships of up to 180,000 DWT. The depth at berths NoNo 49,50 of the Specialized Coal Terminal is 16.5 m for vessels of up to 16 m in draught.
JSC Vostochny Port is the major stevedoring company of Russia specializing in coal transshipment. The Company comprises two production and handling complexes:
• Specialized Coal Terminal equipped with conveyer system and railcar unloading station. Its automation level is as high as 98.9%. Annual capacity – 14.2 mln t of coal;
• Universal Handling Terminal specializing in clamshell coal handling. Its annual capacity is 3 mln t.
Major cargo - coal mined in Kuzbass. In 2014, coal exports accounted for 98% of the Company’s turnover with less than 2% falling on the coastal trade coal.
In 2012, Vostochny Port commenced the construction of its Coal Terminal’s Phase 3.
