A new RST27 is launched under the RS class

On 25th of March 2016 the next in a series of RST27 river-sea tankers (NB №18) was launched at the Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard, the company said in its press release.

The vessel is being built under survey of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS). Class notation: KM Ice1 R2 AUT1-ICS OMBO VCS ECO-S Oil tanker (ESP). The solemn ceremony was attended by Mr.Dmitry Olersky, Director General of BF tanker LLC, Mr.Dmitry Khritin, Director General of the Marine Oil and Gas Project Group, shipyard top management and representatives of RS.

The RST27 vessels of advanced ecological class are being built under survey of RS since 2011 and they are highly appraised by shipowners, maritime administrations and port authorities, as even at the stage of their design additional requirements are applied to prevent pollution in case of emergency. Currently 32 ships of this project operate under RS class. Now another 6 ships are being built at the Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard and OKA Shipyard facilities.

Among them are the Volgo-Don max class tankers with tonnage of 6930 m2. They are designed for transportation of oil and oil products. A distinctive feature of these vessels is an ability to transport two different kinds of cargo simultaneously.

 gross tonnage - 5075;
 deadweight - 7000 t;
 speed - 10 k.

In 2012 the lead vessel of the project RST 27 "BF TANKER-1" was listed among the Significant Ships in annual report published by the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA).
