Russian Railways' network loading up 0.7% to 294 mln t in Jan-March'16
In January-March 2016, the network of Russian Railways loaded 294 mln t, up 0.7%, year-on-year, the Company’s press center says.
In the reported period the railways shipped the following goods:
coal – 83.3 mln t (+3.8%, year-on-year); coke – 2.7 mln t (-3.1%); crude and oil products – 61.3 mln t (-7%); iron and manganese ores – 26.5 mln t (-0.4%); ferrous metal – 17.8 mln t (-4.8%); ferrous metal scrap – 2.3 mln t (-22%); chemical and mineral fertilisers – 13.7 mln t (+5.7%); cement – 4.7 mln t (-11.3%); timber – 10.4 mln t (+2.6%); grain – 5 mln t (+7.8%); construction material – 28.8 mln t (+20.6%); non-ferrous ore and sulphur feedstock – 5.1 mln t (+5.9%); chemicals and soda – 6.5 mln t (+0.9%); industrial feedstock and moulded materials – 6.9 mln t (-4.5%).
From the year beginning freight turnover totaled 565.7 billion tariff ton-km (+0.5%). Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon runs was – 727.3 billion ton-km (+0.3%).
In March 2016, loading totaled 105.1 mln t (+2%, year-on-year), freight turnover declined by 1.2% to 197.7 billion tariff ton-km. Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon runs fell by 1.7% to 253.2 billion ton-km.
