DFDS offers daily departures from Kiel to Klaipeda

Since the start of April the shipping company DFDS offers daily departures between Kiel and the port and Klaipeda in Lithuania. DFDS is thereby maintaining the newly introduced Sunday departure from the Ostuferhafen. The daily departure from the Ostuferhafen is at 20 hours each evening with arrival in Klaipeda at 16 hours on the following day. This new timetable has been made possible by the introduction of two big and fast RoPax ferries which need only 20 hours for the journey.

The “Regina Seaways” and the “Athena Seaways” each have a capacity of 2,500 lane metres for trucks and can carry up to 600 passengers. They have a speed of 22 knots. The fast crossings at the same time every day are particularly attractive to freight customers. But travellers will also benefit from the additional departure and the increased passenger carrying capacity.
