Tallink celebrates 10 years of Riga-Stockholm route operations

On 6th of April AS Tallink Grupp celebrated the tenth anniversary of the Riga-Stockholm passenger ferry operations. In 10 years the company has transported 5.5 million passengers between the two capitals, Tallink Grupp says in a press release.

CEO of Tallink Latvia, Mr. Hillard Taur has been working in the company since the planning of the route started. „I have witnessed this route from day one, moving steadily on a good course. It has been a real joy to work with the team we have on shore as well as the crews of the ships. I hereby would like to thank both, our passengers and employees for being here with and for us! “, said Taur.

AS Tallink Grupp has operated the Riga-Stockholm route with Fantaasia from April to May 2006, with Regina Baltica from May 2006 to May 2009, with Vana Tallinn from April 2007 to August 2008, with Silja Festival from August 2008 to May 2013, with Romantika from May 2009 to August 2014 and currently with Isabelle from May 2013.

Tallink is the only shipping company providing regular passenger and cargo transportation between Riga and Stockholm. The company has made continuous investments to the route`s development and operations and has established new cruising opportunities and experience in the Latvian market. Significant investments have supported Latvian tourism by promoting Riga and Latvia as travel destinations and growth of incoming tourism from very different countries and nationalities. The passenger ferry Isabelle is built in 1989. The length of the vessel is 171 meters, width 27.6 meters, speed 20.5 knots and engine power 23 000 kW. Isabelle has the ice class of 1A Super. The ship can accommodate up to 2500 passengers in 662 cabins. There are 4 different cafés and restaurants, 4 bars, a show bar and discothèque, karaoke bar, sauna and children area on board.  High quality and travel exclusive product shopping is available in the large store. Wide cruise program with local and international bands and great shows are enjoyable for kids, teenagers, adults and seniors.
