Rosmorrechflot’s Sea Rescue Service to get 12 new vessels (photo)
12 vessels to be built for Sea Rescue Service of Rosmorrechflot (Federal Marine and River Transport Agency) under the Federal Targeted Programme “Development of Russia’s Transport System in 2010 – 2020”, IAA PortNews correspondent cites Dmitry Smirnov, Deputy Head of Rosmorrechflot’s Sea Rescue Service, as saying at the VI International Forum “Transport security” held in St. Petersburg on April 6, 2016.
Nevsky Shipyard will build four 2.5-3.0 MW multi-functional rescue tugboats (keels of first two tugboats were laid in June 2015); Yaroslavl Shipyard will build one diving boat of Project А160-Яр and six buoy tenders of Project А40-2Б-ЯР; Oka Shipyard will build one tugboat with firefighting class FF3WS.
According to Dmitry Smirnov, the fleet of the Sea Rescue Service numbers 137 units including 72 vessels of RS class (including 19 conventional ships) and 24 units of Russian River Register.
Total deadweight 22,000 t, gross tonnage - 57,000 t, average age – 23.8 years.
