Training salinig ship Mir to take cadets on board
On April 5, 2016 scheduled repair works at the Mir training sailing ship were completed, Rosmorport says. The ship left Kaliningrad for Saint-Petersburg on April 6.
During the scheduled internavigational repair works the pilot room was widened, radio navigation equipment was replaced, classroom for navigators was modernized, and technical maintenance of systems and mechanisms was conducted. After considering the results of the repair works, the inspectorate of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping issued a permission for further operation of the ship.
Starting from April 15, more than 130 cadets of the Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping are to commence navigation practice on board of the sailing ship.
