Throughput of Port Vanino OJSC up 36.8% to 1.6 mln t in QI’2016
In January-February 2014, Port Vanino OJSC handled over 1.6 mln t of cargo (+36.8% or 430,000 t, year-on-year), the Company's press center says.
Transshipment of export cargo exceeded 1.3 mln t. Transshipment of export coal, which makes the core of exports, increased by over 42% to 1.1 mln t. Besides, the Company exported 160,000 t of timber (+10%) and 144,000 t of ferrous metal (+5%).
Transshipment of import cargo totaled 300,000 t (+58%) including 265,000 t of alumina.
According to Igor Prishchepov, Director General of Port Vanino, the company's throughput suggests improvement of its results in 2016 against the previous year.
Commercial Seaport Vanino (Port Vanino OJSC) is one of the largest stevedoring companies at the port of Vanino.
