In January-March 2016, the port of Kaliningrad handled 3,110,700 t of cargo (-4%, year-on-year), says Baltic Sea Ports Administration.
Transshipment of dry bulk cargo surged by 35% to 285,700 t including 147,200 t of coal (+54%, year-on-year).
Transshipment of dry loose cargo fell by 4% to 1 mln t, general cargo – up 10% to 394,800 t.
The port’s container throughput increased by 15.5% to 43,476 TEUs.
Transshipment of cargoes carried by ferries totaled 460,800 t (+10%), liquid bulk cargo – 720,600 t (-29%) including 3532,600 t of oil products (-41%), 223,600 t of crude oil (-3%) and 135,100 t of food cargo (-33%).
