Cargo throughput at Finland based Port of Helsinki between January and April 2016 was up 1% from last year's figures and totaled 3.81 million tonnes, the Port Authority statistics showed.
Four month volume of break-bulk increased by 4% to 3.5 million tonnes, handling of dry bulk cargo fell by 23% to 308,000 tonnes, container throughput increased by 14% to 155,023 TEUs.
The number of Ro-Ro cargo increased by 2% to 168,669 vehicles.
Passenger traffic increased by 3% and totaled 3.07 million people.
Port of Helsinki is one of Finland's largest ports, the biggest passenger port in the country and is ranked as the third busiest port by cargo tonnage in the Baltic Sea. Helsinki handles 77% of all passenger traffic in Finland. In 2015 Port of Helsinki freight throughput grew by 5.3% and totaled 11.4 million tonnes.
