Russian shipyards' 2016 order books exceed 150 civil vessels, official says
The portfolio of shipbuilding orders of Russian shipyards in 2016 totaled more than 150 civil vessels, a Russian official said on Tuesday.
The Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov attended yesterday a keel-laying at Feodosia based Morye Shipyard for fast attack guided missile craft (project 22800) ordered by MoD.
"We believe there are more than 150 newbuilding orders for this year. I think the trend will continue next year", Mr. Manturov said.
He also reminded the industry in 2015 faced a decline in newbuilds contracts.
"There was a certain decrease compared with 2014 year, roughly by about 50%. In 2015 production was about 20 billion rubles. We built about 70 civilian vessels,” said the minister.
On May 10, the minister Denis Mansurov took part in the keel-laying ceremony at Feodosia, Crimea shipyard fast attack ship of 22800-series for Russian Navy. This is the first shipbuilding order for Morye Shipyard since 2014.
