The Closed Meeting of the 56th Session of the Cospas-Sarsat Council (CSC-56/CLD) took place from Thursday 18 to Friday 20 May 2016 in Montreal, Canada. The CSC-56/CLD Meeting was attended by the representatives from each of the four Parties to the International Cospas-Sarsat Programme Agreement, namely Canada, France, Russian Federation and the USA, Russia's MARSAT said in its press release.
The priority items on the agenda of the CSC-56/CLD Meeting were the following: Programme management and finance issues; launches of the new Cospas low-orbit satellites; implementation of the MEOSAR; development of the second generation beacons; and meeting the ICAO requirements for the aircraft safety.
