G E Shipping takes delivery of new Kamsarmax dry bulk carrier

The Great Eastern Shipping Company Ltd. (G E Shipping) has taken delivery of a new Kamsarmax Dry Bulk Carrier "Jag Ajay" (approx. 82,000 dwt). The vessel was ordered by the Company in December 2013 and has been built at Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding Co. Ltd., China, the Company said in a media release.

With the inclusion of this vessel, the Company's current fleet stands at 33 vessels, comprising 23 tanker (7 crude carriers, 14 product tankers, 2 LPG carrier) and 10 bulk carriers (5 Kamsarmax, 5 Supramax) with an average age of 9.97 years aggregating 2.48 mn dwt.

G E Shipping is India's largest private sector shipping company specializing in shipping and offshore services. The shipping business is involved in transportation of crude oil, petroleum products, gas and dry bulk commodities. The offshore business services to the oil companies in carrying out offshore exploration and production activities, through its subsidiary Greatship (India) Limited.
