Throughput of Ukraine’s seaports down 11.4% to 63.25 mln t in HI’2016

In January-June 2016, seaports of Ukraine handled 63,251,000 t of cargo (-11.4%), says press center of Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.

Transshipment of export cargo totaled 48,577,000 t (-1.3%, year-on-year), imports – 8,064,000 t (-13.5%), 5,080,000 t (-47.8%, year-on-year), inland traffic -1,531,000 t.

Container throughput in seaports of Ukraine totaled 290,957 TEUs (+20.8%, year-on-year).

State stevedores under the Ministry of Infrastructure handled 20,372,000 t (32% of total volume). Other port operators (mostly private operators) handled 42,879,000 t (68% of total volume) including 24,871,000 t handled via USPA berths (39% of total volume).
