In January-June 2016, the port of Kaliningrad handled 6,109,600 t of cargo (-5%, year-on-year), says Baltic Sea Ports Administration.
Transshipment of dry bulk cargo grew by 9% to 657,600 t including 323,500 t of coal (+61%, year-on-year).
Transshipment of dry loose cargo increased by 15% to 2.22 mln t, transshipment of general cargo declined by 4% to 751,800 t.
The port’s container throughput was flat at 73,192 TEUs.
Transshipment of cargoes carried by ferries totaled 694,100 t (-24%), liquid bulk cargo – 1.30 mln t (-27%) including 625,000 t of oil products (-39%), 402,400 t of crude oil (-2%) and 252,700 t of food cargo (-22%).
