In January-July 2016, the port of Rostov-on-Don handed 9,794,000 t of cargo (+16.2%, year-on-year), Harbour Master Pavel Zakharchenko told IAA PortNews.
Transshipment of crude and oil products climbed by 29.4 % to 3,731,000 t, grain – by 38.7% to 2,339,000 t, coal and coke – by 25.4% to 837,000 t, metal scrap – by 19.7% to 672,000 t. Transshipment of non-grain bulk cargo fell by 10.1% to 1,600,000 t, general cargo – by 25.9% to 259,000 t, liquid bulk food- by 9.2% to 232,000 t.
In the reported period, loading increased by 31.6% to 6,673,000 t, transit – by 0.7% to 2,674,000 t. Unloading fell by 32% to 478,000 t.
The number of incoming/outgoing vessels increased to 3,159/ 3,212 against 2,998/3,055 a year ago.
Bunkering at the port of Rostov-on-Don increased by 84% to 62,900 t.
