On August 2, 2016 the first group of cadets of FSBEI “Moscow State Academy of Water Transport” boarded Khersones sailing ship, says Rosmorport.
During two months 70 cadets will pass practice on vessel in specializations: navigation, operation of vessel’s power plants and the operation of vessel’s electrical equipment and means of automation. In addition to training in their specializations, cadets will learn sail rigging and will pass practice on work with sails.
The vessel is currently in Sevastopol, where its recovery repair is being completed. Then the sailing ship will pass sea trials, after which it will head for Novorossiysk to participate in SCF Black Sea Tall Ships Regatta 2016. After participation in the tall ships competition, the cadets will come to Crimea for completion of the navigation practice program.
