Freight traffic at the port of Tallinn (Estonia) in January-July 2016 decreased by 10% on the same period last year to 12, 33 million tonnes, the Port Authority statistics showed.
In the reporting period container traffic and liquid bulk volume fell by 5.9% (112,844 TEUs) and 23.8% (6.27 million tonnes), respectively.
At the same time handling of dry bulk cargo jumped by 33.1% (2.10 million tonnes), of Ro-Ro cargo - by 4.6% (2.61 million tonnes).
Passenger traffic increased by 4.9% to 6.02 million people.
Port of Tallinn ranks third among largest seaport, next to St. Petersburg and Primorsk, on the Baltic Sea. The Port comprises five so-called port zones: Muuga, Old City Harbor, Paljassaare, Paldiski South and Saaremaa. In 2015 cargo throughput at the Port of Tallinn reached 22.44 million tonnes.
