Today, on 30th of August, cruise ship AIDAaura operated by AIDA Cruises has made her maiden call to Passenger Port of Saint Petersburg, says the Port’s press center.
AIDAaura was built in 2003 by the German shipyard Aker MTW in Wismar. Christening ceremony was held on April 12th, 2003 in Warnemünde. AIDAaura was christerned by world-famous top model Heidi Klum.
She has 12 decks, 630 cabins, 203 meters length and capacity of carrying 1300 passengers on board. The vessel is sister ship of the AIDAvita.
Among the most visited entertainment facilities are the Anytime Disco, the AIDA Bar and the Hemingway Bar. The passengers can spend great relaxing time at the Body & Soul spa or train at the really large Fit & Fun fitness center. The sport-lovers are offered a basketball/volleyball playground and indoor golf course. The pool deck gives “a real beach” feeling with its real palm trees.

During summer cruise season 2016 38 calls will be made by AIDA Cruises ships.
Passenger Port of Saint-Petersburg «Marine Façade» PLC is in the ownership of the city of St. Petersburg and is the largest passenger seaport in Russia. Construction of Marine Façade began in 2006. The port can accommodate cruise and ferry ships of up to 330 m long and with a draft of up to 8.8 m. The length and depth of new access channels - 10 km and 11 m, accordingly. The port operates seven piers. The quay-side length – 2,171.06 m.
