RF Government approves regulations for open sea fishery

RF Government has approved regulations for open sea fishery in respect of legal entities and individual entrepreneurs involved in open sea fishery with the use of vessels flying the flag of the Russian Federation. The document has been published at the official portal for legal information. It comes into effect 10 days from the publication.

According to the document, all vessels involved in open sea fishery should comply with the regulations applicable to specific areas under international agreements. The vessels should be equipped with special devices to ensure automatic supply of information on their location and other technical control facilities.

The Federal Agency for Fishery (Rosrybolovstvo) should provide information on any change of regulations within the framework of international agreements of the Russian Federation. This information should be available at the official website of the Agency and in printed materials.

RF Government’s Order dated August 25, 2016 (No 841) regulating open sea fishery of the Russian Federation will come into effect on September 9, 2016.
