Cargo flow along the Northern Sea Route is planned to be increased in the nearest time to 20 mln t per year, in 5 years it is to make 30-35 mln t, IAA PortNews cites RF Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov as saying at the Second Eastern Economic Forum when speaking at the session “The Transit Potential of the Russian Far East: From Geography to Geoeconomics”. Special attention was paid to the development of port Sabetta.
“Efficient use of the transit potential of the Russian Federation including the comprehensive programme on the development of marine, railway, road and air routes is among the top priorities of transport industry,” the Minister said.
