In January-August 2016, the port of Rostov-on-Don handed 12,224,000 t of cargo (+18.1%, year-on-year), Acting Harbour Master of Rostov-on-Don port Victor Zavozin told IAA PortNews.
Transshipment of crude and oil products climbed by 28.1 % to 4,405,000 t, grain – by 38.8% to 3,500,000 t, coal and coke – by 26.8% to 953,000, metal scrap – by 25.3% to 762,000 t. Transshipment of non-grain bulk cargo fell by 6.8% to 1,908,000 t, general cargo – by 26.1% to 308,000 t, liquid bulk food- by 5.2% to 250,000 t.
In the reported period, loading increased by 30% to 8,178,000 t, transit – by 9.8% to 3,520,000 t. Unloading fell by 38.4% to 526,000 t.
The number of incoming/outgoing vessels increased to 4,035 / 4,095 against 3,756 / 3,799 a year ago.
Bunkering at the port of Rostov-on-Don increased by 86% to 74,600 t.
