Kaliningrad Region to compensate costs for sea cargo transportation to/from mainland Russia (photo)

Kaliningrad Region is looking into a possibility to compensate the shipping costs when it comes to cargoes delivered by sea to the region from the mainland Russia and back , IAA PortNews journalist cites Vladimir Zhovtun, head of the Transport Development Department at the regional Ministry of Infrastructure Development, as saying at the Baltic Transport Forum in Kaliningrad. 

According to him, this mechanism is already applied to railway transportations with RUB 1 bln of subsidies covering the period up to 2020.
