Wärtsilä has been selected as an index component of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI), both in the DJSI World and DJSI Europe indices, the company said in its press release.
S&P Dow Jones Indices, one of the world’s leading index providers, and RobecoSAM, the investment specialist focused exclusively on Sustainability Investing, yesterday announced the results of the annual Dow Jones Sustainability Indices review. This year RobecoSAM invited 3,400 of the world’s largest companies from developed and emerging markets to participate in its annual Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA).
Launched in 1999, the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) are a family of indices evaluating the sustainability performance of the largest companies listed on the Dow Jones Global Total Stock Market Index. They are the longest-running global sustainability benchmarks worldwide, and have become a key reference point in sustainability investing for investors and companies alike.
The DJSI is based on an analysis of corporate economic, environmental and social performance, assessing issues such as corporate governance, risk management, branding, climate change mitigation, supply chain standards and labour practices.
