In January-August 2016, the port of Kaliningrad handled 7,835,400 t of cargo (-8%, year-on-year), says Baltic Sea Ports Administration.
Transshipment of dry bulk cargo was flat, year-on-year, at 943,600 t including 15,600 t of mineral fertilizers (-49%) and 442,000 t of coal (+58%).
Transshipment of dry loose cargo increased by 14% to 2.78 mln t, transshipment of general cargo declined by 3% to 998,800 t.
The port’s container throughput increased by 11% to 122,109 TEUs.
Transshipment of cargoes carried by ferries totaled 837,200 t (-34%), liquid bulk cargo – 1.61 mln t (-27%) including 776,800 t of oil products (-38%), 500,200 t of crude oil (-4%) and 307,200 t of food cargo (-23%).
