Cargo volumes handled at the Port of Singapore in January-August 2016 climbed by 0.5%, year-on-year, to 392.7 million tonnes, the Port Authority statistics showed.
The volume of oil cargo climbed by 9.5% to 145.09 million tonnes, while non-oil bulk cargo fell by 5.1% to 11.9 million tonnes.
The port’s container throughput dropped by 3.1% to 20.43 mln TEUs.
Singapore is the city-state located on an island in the South-East Asia. In 2015, container traffic at Port of Singapore reached 30,92 TEUs, total cargo throughput was 575 million tonnes.
