In January-September 2016, the port of Rostov-on-Don handed 14,743,000 t of cargo (+18.9%, year-on-year), Acting Harbour Master of Rostov-on-Don port Victor Zavozin told IAA PortNews.
Transshipment of crude and oil products climbed by 34 % to 5,331,000 t, grain – by 33.8% to 4,542,000 t, coal and coke - by 23.4% to 1,040,000 t, metal scrap - by 18.4% to 846,000 t, liquid bulk food- by 5.3% to 285,000 t. Transshipment of non-grain bulk cargo fell by 5.1% to 2,208,000 t, general cargo – by 28.3% to 345,000 t.
In the reporting period, loading at the port increased by 25.6% to 9,657,000 t, transit – by 21.3% to 4,484,000 t. Unloading fell by 40.6% to 602,000 t.
The number of incoming/outgoing vessels increased to 4,876 / 4,951 against 4,607 / 4,647 a year ago.
Bunkering at the port of Rostov-on-Don increased by 66% to 84,600 t.
