In the framework of the overall modernization of machinery at JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” (SPSP, a member of UCL Holding) two new forklift trucks KALMAR DCF330-12LB with capacity of 33 tonnes were purchased and delivered to the port from Sweden, says the Port’s PR Department.

Lift trucks will be used for handling of ferrous metals, particularly - steel slabs and steel coils. The machines have on-board computers, which monitor the operation of the main units and facilitate the troubleshooting. Advanced LED lighting equipment enhances visibility and safety of operations in all the weather conditions.

The KALMAR trucks will be put into operation before middle November after their running tests are completed and the relevant documents are ready.

It is the third delivery of new machinery to the berths of the port. In summer SPSP purchased two MANTSINEN К-200(ES) cranes for handling of general and bulk cargoes at the First Area of the port and two bucket loaders VOLVO L60GZ with the capacity of 2 cubic meters for handling of bulk cargoes. In addition, our company purchased the attachments for hoisting gear and specialized roll-trailers for transportation of cargo around the territory of the port.

In the coming months SPSP is expected to receive ten UNICARRIERS lift trucks with the capacity of 2.5 tonnes for handling of aluminum. Before the year is out, the cargo handling fleet of SPSP will be reinforced with four 10-tonnes and eight 8-tonnes lift trucks.
