Throughput of Rostov-on-Don port up 14.8% to 16.53 mln t in 10M’16

In January-October 2016, the port of Rostov-on-Don handed 16,539,000 t of cargo (+14.8%, year-on-year), Acting Harbour Master of Rostov-on-Don port Andrei Iovlev told IAA PortNews.

Transshipment of crude and oil products climbed by 32.9% to 6.029 mln t, grain – by 26.2% to 5.111 mln t, coal and coke – by 12.3% to 1.124 mln t, metal scrap – by 16.8% to 867,000 t, liquid bulk food- by 12.6% to 329,000 t. Transshipment of non-grain bulk cargo fell by 9.1% to 10.627 mln t, general cargo – by 28.8% to 389,000 t, metal – down 3.7 times to 108,000 t. 

In the reporting period, loading at the port increased by 17.7% to 10.627 mln t, transit – by 23.7% to 5.222 mln t. Unloading fell by 40.2% to 690,000 t. 

The number of incoming/outgoing vessels increased to 5,545 / 5,604 against 5,408 / 5,451 a year ago.

Bunkering at the port of Rostov-on-Don increased by 52% to 92,600 t.
