In January-October 2016, JSC Rosterminalugol (port Ust-Luga, Leningrad Region) handled 14.852 mln t of coal, up 3.5%, year-on-year, says the Company.
From the beginning of the year the company loaded 233 vessels having accepted and unloaded 207,345 railcars.
In October, Rosterminalugol handled 1.774 mln t of coal, up 24%, year-on-year.
It was the sea terminal of Rosterminalugol that marked the beginning of multi-purpose port Ust-Luga 20 years ago. The port of Ust-Luga is the largest and the most state-of-the-art port in the North-West region of Russia. As of today, Rosterminalugol occupies the territory of 53.5 hectares with a water front of 560 meters. The terminal can accommodate ships of up to 100,000 DWT.
Hi-tech facilities of the sea terminal ensure its high performance complying with environmental standards. Throughout its existence Rosterminalugol accepted and exported over 110 mln t of Russian coal produced in Kuzbass and other coal basins.
The cargo shipped by Rosterminalugol is delivered mostly to Europe, primarily to the Netherlands (ARA ports), Germany, Great Britain, Spain, Italy, Turkey, Brazil, Slovenia, Finland etc.
This year the terminal expects the throughput to exceed 17 mln t.
Rosterminalugol JSC is run by Managing Port Company LLC which also controls the operation of Vostochny Port JSC in the Primorsky Territory.
Total throughput of the two dedicated terminals exceeded 40 mln t in 2015, which is more than one third of coal exported from Russia by sea.
