During the period of January-September 2016 JSC Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg (SPSP, a member of UCL Holding) invested 30.8 million Roubles into the environmental programme – 72% more than for the same period of the last year, says the Port’s PR Department.
The growth is caused by the increase of expenses for modernization and optimization of waste water disposal facilities on the 1st and the 2nd areas of the port.
Also, during the same period SPSP invested into the environmental protection of the port water area of the Finnish Gulf. In particular, the protective measures included scheduled control of coastal areas, waste water treatment and quality monitoring.
Besides, SPSP took the samples of atmospheric air on the boundary of sanitary protection zone. The results proved that air quality corresponds to the quality standards.
In order to fulfil sanitary and epidemiologic requirements related to waste treatment, SPSP organized the on-time removal of wastes from the territory of the company.
