Throughput of Illichivsk seaport (Ukraine) down 10% to 12.9 mln t in 10M’16

In January-October 2016, Ukrainian seaport of Illichivsk  handled 12,873,000 t of cargo (-10%, year-on-year), says the port authority.

The highest results were achieved in transshipment of grain - 6.107 mln t (up 57%, year-on-year) and loaded trucks – 900,000 t (+21%).

In January-October the port handled 843 vessels and 116,841 wagons.

The port’s October throughput totaled 1.262 mln t.

Throughput of state port operator - Commercial Seaport Chernomorsk – accounted for 36% of the port’s total turnover in October. Private port operators handled 808,000 t of cargo (64% of total turnover) including 646,000 t of cargo handled at the terminals of Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (51% of total volume).

Transshipment of export cargo totaled 1.111 mln t (up 10%, year-on-year), import – 140,000 t (56% of the volume handled in the same period of 2015), transit – 12,000 t (+12%).

In October the port handled 903,000 t of dry bulk cargo (82% of 10M’15 result), liquid bulk cargo – 171,000 t (+7%, year-on-year), general cargo – 188,000 t (up 6%).

The best results in October were shown in the sector of grain transshipment – 699,000 t (+30%, year-on-year).

In October the port handled 72 vessels and 12,187 wagons.

Seaport of Illichivsk is a multipurpose international port, one of the largest ports in the Black Sea. The port can accommodate vessels of up to 275 meters (or up to 300 upon the permit of the Harbour Master). The access channel is 1.4 km long, 160 m wide and 16 m deep.
