The extended session of the Military council of the Black Sea Fleet has taken place in Sevastopol under the presidency of its Commander Admiral Alexander Vitko, says press center of RF Defence Ministry.
In particular, it was mentioned that ships and vessels of the Black Sea Fleet had carried out about 80 sorties, successfully performed tasks during the Caucasus-2016 exercise and accomplished missions within the permanent group of the Russian Navy in the Mediterranean.
For the first time during the long-range cruises, the crews of the newest Admiral Grigorovich frigate and the small-sized missile ships Serpukhov and Zelyony Dol performed Kalibr cruise missile launches against terrorists in the Syrian Arab Republic.
Special mention was made of the units of the Naval Aviation and the Coastal Troops.
