The first batch of pellets in twenty one 20-feet containers came to Ust-Luga station of Oktyabrskaya Railway on 25 November. According to TransContainer PJSC, the delivery was arranged by Novoyeniseisky Wood-Chemical (NE CJSC). The cargo is unloaded to Timber Terminal "Factor" for further shipment to Europe.
The second batch of twenty two containers was dispatched on November 11, the third – on November 16. All in all, 68 TEUs were shipped by Lesosibirsk – Ust-Luga route. The cargo is transported by TransContainer with the use of its own containers and flatcars.
Specialists of TransContainer and Russian Railways have jointly prepared the Oktyabrskaya and Krasnoyarskaya Railways for the new project. Ust-Luga station which used to handle only railcars is now able to work with large capacity containers.
Oktyabrskaya Railway’s cargo traffic is thus expected to grow by over 160 TEUs per month.
